The Organization Committee (OC) and the Chairs of ALGO 2020 decided to run the conferences online in a virtual way. What is most important is that the scientific activity of the Programme Committees of the ALGO conferences is not suspended or stopped: peer review, accepted papers, camera ready and proceedings will be accomplished as usual. Instructions for authors on how to give their talks online in the virtual room will be provided.
The Symposium on Algorithmic Approaches for Transportation Modelling, Optimization, and Systems is an international forum for researchers in the area of optimization methods and algorithms to facilitate planning and operational management of freight and passenger transportation and traffic. It is colocated with ALGO 2020.
ATMOS brings together researchers and practitioners who are interested in all aspects of algorithmic methods and models for transport optimization. The symposium provides a forum for the exchange and dissemination of new ideas and techniques. The aim of making transportation better gives rise to very complex and large-scale optimization problems requiring innovative solution techniques and ideas from algorithms, mathematical optimization, theoretical computer science, and operations research.
Authors are invited to submit an extended abstract or full paper of at most 12 pages (including title page and abstract, but excluding references and an optional appendix) via the EasyChair submission system at:

The paper should contain a succinct statement of the issues and of their motivation, a summary of the main results, and a brief explanation of their significance, accessible to non-specialist readers. Proofs omitted due to space constraints can be put into an appendix to be read by the program committee members at their discretion. Papers must be submitted electronically via the EasyChair submission system. By submitting a paper, the authors acknowledge that in case of acceptance at least one of the authors must register at ALGO 2020, attend the conference, and present the paper. Attendance and presentation can be either physical (if there are no safety concerns due to the covid-19), or virtual (in case of remaining safety concerns or travel restrictions).

Martin's research interests are in mathematical modeling, operations research, optimization methods, algorithm design, performance analysis, logistics, supply chain management, and transportation systems. He has published over 150 research papers in many of the top optimization and logistics journals, and has a track record of innovative techniques for solving large-scale optimization problems in a variety of areas. Ongoing research projects include innovations in last-mile delivery, advances in dynamic ride-sharing, methods for multi-objective optimization, and dynamic management of time-expanded networks. Martin Savelsbergh is the Editor-in-Chief of Transportation Science, the flagship journal of INFORMS in the area of transportation and logistics.
